Africa Alive! (8 miles)

This not-to-be-missed wildlife park which is near to Southwold, has won a string of awards and has gained in popularity over the years following massive expansion. The highlights include "The plains of Africa", where Rhinos, Giraffes and Zebras are free to roam in a large area built to their natural environment. New - Take a safari via jeep through this area!

RSPB Minsmere (11 miles)


Minsmere offers families and keen birdwatchers a great day out. Nature trails take you through a variety of habitats to excellent birdwatching hides. There is a visitor centre where you can find out more about the wildlife, browse in the shop or enjoy a meal in the licensed tearoom. There are events all year.

Pets Corner (12 miles)

Pets Corner is ideal for children, with snakes, rabbits, monkeys, ducks, exotic birds, guinea pigs, meerkats, sheep, pygmy goats and pony's. It is open daily, from 10am-5pm, and can be found at the Nicholas Evereitt Park, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft.


Oasis Camel Centre (20 miles)

The Oasis Camel Centre is located between Harleston and Halesworth in North Suffolk, with so much to see and do, the centre is a fantastic fun packed family day out. Meet our very friendly camels and get 'hands-on' with one of them in our special photo and information sessions held at regular intervals each day - but the fun doesn't stop there!

Suffolk Owl Sanctuary (29 miles)


The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns in Suffolk is the focal point of our organisation and provides a delightful place to visit to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of Owls and other birds of prey. There are over 60 raptors at the Centre, all housed in spacious aviaries and flying free in narrated flying displays or demonstrations. You will also find Red Squirrels, the Raptor Hospital, The Barclays Sensory Garden, an information centre about Owls, a woodland walk with bird hide, picnic areas and plenty of activities for children.
